Does Today’s Dilbert Look Familiar?

September 17th, 2007

TimDid anyone else notice a striking resemblance between today’s Dilbert and our Marketing 101 comic? I’m not accusing Scott Adams of plagiarism or anything (we’re not nearly popular enough for that), but it’s amazing how similar they are. It’s not just the same concept, it’s also the ‘hot product’ joke that gets me. Personally, I think he should have switched the order of the jokes though to make the ‘hot’ joke last (like we did) as I felt it was the best final punchline. So my faithful readers, I have a question:

Which marketing comic is funnier?

Favorite Doppelgangers

September 17th, 2007

RayI am a sucker for nearly-identical characters involved in fights of good vs. evil. Any video game or movie that involves this type of story is something I tend to fall in love with. There’s just something about a character fighting their "true" opposite that I’ve always loved. Here are some of my favorites in no particular order.

SonicShadow

Sonic the Hedgehog / Shadow the Hedgehog
Shadow has left a bad impression on everyone lately, but when he first debuted in Sonic Adventure 2 for the Dreamcast,
he was absolutely perfect.

SamusDark Samus

Samus Aran / Dark Samus

Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes…

September 10th, 2007

TimYeah, so thanks to the ‘Digg effect‘ our site was down for much of the weekend. I always hate to see a potential audience unable to access our site, and when my current webhost politely asked us to leave the shared hosting because others were complaining about us hogging the bandwidth, it pretty much sealed the deal. We’ll be moving to a VPS which, while more expensive, should prevent the downtime due to a spike in traffic. Anyway, sorry if the site is goes up and down over the next couple days while we make the switch. I hope to have everything done by Wednesday so our new comic can be seen by everyone. And thanks for checking us out!

Ray Reviews Metroid Prime 3: Corruption

MP3C

TimBe sure to check out Ray’s review of Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. If you can’t read, at least check out how nice the review looks. I always enjoy the color schemes he picks for his reviews based on the game’s mood/theme.
