Nintendo Hits a Homerun

I was caught off-guard last night with Nintendo’s Fall Press Conference in Japan. I had no idea there was going to be such a conference, let alone a conference where they would actually reveal important information! Sonic in Smash Bros. is a huge revelation as Ray points out in a surprisingly composed blog post. But there were other tid-bits too. A new Mario Baseball title for the Wii has me pretty excited as I’m ready to unlock all the Star Characters all over again. Motorcycles in Mario Kart should be interesting and very fitting for at least 1 character I can think of. The news of a DS Demo channel confirms that we will get Wii to DS connectivity which will hopefully spill over into innovative new gameplay as well. All-in-all, some exciting stuff around the corner!

You had posted about the game icons used in smash bros and how there was an elusive number 13 missing previously. If you check it out, you’ll see that the Sonic icon is number 20. That means number 13 and number 19 are both still missing. I know 19 is missing since I tried that as well. Not only that, I don’t recognize the leaf icon (number 15). No currently revealed character uses that icon nor does any past character. Also, captain falcon’s icon is shown and he hasn’t officially been confirmed yet to be a character, though it’s inevitable at this point.
That icon represents the Animal Crossing Series, and is used for the Smashville Stage, Pitfall Item, and Mr.Ressetti Assist Trophy.
Captain Falcon’s icon was introduced with the Samurai Goro Assist Trophy, and I agree that it’s inevitable.
It’ll be interesting to see who fills those other icon slots. Thanks for the tip!
Hey Tim, maybe when we pick up the new Mario Baseball you can show me how you got all the star characters in the original…
