Giveaway #4: GH III Guitar Pick and Wiimote Keychain [Closed]

November 16th, 2007

Wii

TimGot both of these at E for All and thought I’d pass them along. I’d keep the guitar pick except the picks I use are a lot thinner than this one, so I’d never use it. The Wii Remote keychain is actually a flashlight and is really cool. And the blue light is unbelievably bright, I had lots of fun blinding Ray at E for All with this thing. Anyway, to enter the contest, just leave a comment below stating whether or not you’ve heard our podcast before and if so, did you like it? Good luck!

[Update]: Comment #14 is the winner, and that would be Aaron! Thanks everyone for your comments on the podcast and look for another Giveaway on Friday!

Cal Band - Video Game Show

November 16th, 2007

RayI’ve always wondered how you could pull off a video game themed marching band show, and this gives me a better idea. It’s not perfect, but it’s a good start.

Halo 3 for Free! [Update]

November 16th, 2007

TimIf you haven’t heard yet, now’s your chance to get Halo 3 for free. All you have to do is buy an Xbox 360 by Dec. 21 and register an Xbox Live account and they’ll send you a copy of Halo 3 for free (doesn’t arrive until Jan 18, but still). Hear that Nintendo? How about YOU start including a free game with the purchase of a Wii? Wait, you already do? Oh yeah…

[Update]: Seems they took down the offer and replaced it with a much more restrictive one. Lame!

Mario Galaxy Blues [Update]

November 14th, 2007

Mario Galaxy

TimLooks like I’m not the only one having problems getting my hands on Super Mario Galaxy from Toys ‘R’ Us. I preordered it there so I could get the $25 gift card that comes with it, but after 4 trips to the store and a half-dozen phone calls, I’ve still got nothing to show for it. This morning when I called they promised it would be in by 5pm today and that they gave DHL ‘hell’ for not having the shipment delivered on time. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

[Update]: Things got worse before they got better, but I’m happy to report that I now am finally in possession of Super Mario Galaxy!

Super Manrio Kart

Super Manrio Kart

This stop-motion video was made by a few friends of mine at school last year, and it’s just now making its way onto YouTube for the rest of you to finally see. I was pretty excited everytime I saw the latest results from them at the time, and while I’m dissappointed the audio is severely lacking in terms of music and sfx, it’s still pretty funny. Good job, guys.

Giveaway #3: Zelda Game & Watch Keychain [Closed]

November 9th, 2007

Zelda

TimRemember the pre-Gameboy handhelds Nintendo used to make called Game & Watch? I sure do, and I was excited to find that some of them were remade in keychain form. These neat little pieces of nostalgia were unceremoniously released some years back, but can still be found occasionally at Toys ‘R’ Us. I was able to pick up a couple Zelda and Donkey Kong Mini Classics awhile ago and would love to give away a Zelda one this week! I’ll get a better picture up later, but as you can see it has two screens and closes together like a DS. The game will come new, unopened. Also, this is probably the most difficult Zelda game ever made. I’m not kidding either. To enter the contest, just leave a comment below telling me what your favorite G & W game was, or if you’ve never played one, what newer Nintendo franchise do you think would be cool to see as a Game & Watch game? Good luck!

[Update]: The contest winner is chosen at random. I typically use random.org to generate a random number between 1 and X (number of comments).

[Update 2]: Lucky number 13 came up as my random integer (from random.org), so Troy is our lucky winner! Thanks for participating everyone and keep checking back each Friday for some sort of giveaway!
