Hmm what kind of gamer am I... O_o

I've played WoW for over 15 hours a day sometimes for a while... stopped for several months went to at least 5 hours a day... Off again. I've done 10,15,25,40 man raids (take hours)... Then again some days I just play it for 20 minutes.

I like the Halo series and played solo, pretty good at online/multiplayer.

I LOVE FF games and played each twice for at least 200 hours but prolly lots of it wandering around for the heck of it OR even ... uh... dozing off LOL (Although haven't played any console games for about a year)

I enjoy fighting games like Tekken....

I like Bejewled as well... And do those text/graphic games online (ie FB ones)

I play Sudoku on my iPod as well as from the newspaper (which is too easy imo)...

And then other times I look at the console/computer/iPod with about 100 things to do on each game and... 'meh I'll just watch TV.'

*shrug*

You tell me... LOL

(consistently inconsistent uncommitted hard-core gamer????)

This is true, but as you say, you lose out on being able to share on a larger variety of topics, as you're limited to what Ray and Tim feel like talking about. This isn't a bad thing, but I've always been a fan of forum discussion. After all, the blog would still exist and I don't see the forum affecting the accessibility of the blog much at all. They would compliment each other, as the forum would allow more room for discussion and interacting with each other, but the blog comments would be more focused on Tim and Ray and the comic.

Whatever Tim and Ray (and you guys) feel is best is fine with me, as I'm not even that active here yet, and of course the dedicated fanbase is a higher priority.

I think that the current system has several benefits that increase the community interaction on posted topics.

1. Only Tim and Ray can create topics.
2. No login / password is needed to participate (and even have an avatar)
3. Topics are always in the same place. Each topic is pushed back by the march of time regardless of the number of posts.

On the other hand, you lose out on:
1. Very dedicated users being able to share on many topics

Forums trade accessibility for intimacy. By providing barriers to entry (most forums are pretty well split with a large number of occasional posters and a few "trusted members", even ignoring the difficulties in ) they allow the "insiders" to become experts in their field.

Comments provide a level playing field where people don't expect a conversation and there are no experts. Comments are shorter (except for this one) and keep people relating more directly to Ray and Tim.

I fully support the idea of a forum. Everyone here seems cool and comments on every single post, so a forum would be good for the community.

^^^Yeah, my feelings too Andrew. I'm not opposed to forums, as I'm a semi-regular at smashboards, but I just don't envision that kind of thing for 2PSTART!... *shrugs*
