Oh, speaking of time trials... One of you two should post the top 10 of the 2P Start players from the current tournament!

((I'm assuming most of your friends are readers of the site, so just check the top 10 friend rankings and possibly take a screenshot.))

I found myself in agreement with most of the review. I was unaware that automatic was that much better than manual, even for Kart veterans. I'll have to test that one in my attempt to beat Ray's time trials...

Personally, I happen to like the triad of Bowser's castles added to the tracks. I tend to like the castle stages as tricky tracks that are challenging but aren't Rainbow Road. Hence the reason I tend to vote for them in online races =]

Yes, but even if you can use a mushroom to escape a Blue Shell, first place drivers are never awarded mushrooms. I had also recognized doing a trick during a POW block eliminated a complete spin-out, but it now leaves you open for any other attack. Generally people toss their items before a POW block hits, so you can generally expect a Red Shell to follow up the POW.

As for the argument between automatic and manual, Tim and I have both tested this out quite a bit. While driving manual, any change of direction to the smallest amount slows down your vehicle to some degree. With automatic, you're guaranteed to continue going at your maximum speed no matter how much you turn. In the end, automatic drivers can hug the inside of the track forever without losing any speed and with little difficulty.

I disagree with you saying automatic is better than manual. I think manual is a lot better than automatic. With manual, you almost always get at least a blue boost if not a yellow boost on every turn. And even though karts can't wheelie, they can get yellow boosts, unlike bikes, which evens it all out in the end. Also, it is possible to dodge blue shells by using a mushroom just as it's about to hit you, and by shaking the wii wheel when a POW block hits you, you do not slow down, even though you do lose your item.
