ZX Advent somewhat solves the overworld problem, although it can still get tedious. Most navigation comes from a central hub in the beginning. There is also a system that allows you to teleport to certain places in areas you've already visited, making movement much faster and more efficient. It also lets you transform into different Pseudoroid bosses as well as the megamen from the first game, with the exception of models X and O. ZX is also unlocked at a point in the game. It is a difficult game, but not as difficult as Zero was. It did still have the problem that you often found yourself sticking to a select few forms, as at least three of them are practically useless in conventional combat, and one is immobile on dry land. The transforming is creative though, as sometimes using the same moves over and over can get repetitive. I recommend you try it, even if you aren't such a big fan of the Zero series.

I played the first ZX game and found it worth my time, although the overworld was a bit annoying. You can read my old, old review of it here.
