Tim’s Take: Second Opinion

TT

TimThis should have gone up last week, but things got busy. I ought to start archiving these. There’s some continuity involved, so to understand fully, make sure you’ve read the last couple. Enjoy the Tim’s Take.

    Wow!
    That’s… vertical flip!

  2. JohnW says:

NCT! I agree, these should be archived before they’re lost in the blog posts! Maybe we can have a Podcast on Monday, a Ray Comic on Thursdays and a Tim’s Take on Fridays every 2 weeks or so? (If Tim’s up for it, of course) It has potential!

    • JohnW says:

Also, in Panel 11 and 12, the Blue/Red Pill should fall forwards as it was moving clockwise, yet it falls backwards from its seen position in Panel 11!

Also, maybe we could have a Tim’s Take every week? If Tim’s up for it, I’m signing my virtual petition!

      • Retl says:

Did someone say virtual petition? I have this disease where I have to sign up for every internet based petition I see, even if they’re directly conflicting.

  3. MrDeku says:

This-a comic used to be good.

  4. The Gastronomic Gamer says:

Man, Tim’s Take USED to be good…

  5. Retl says:

Tim, this is great in an awesome and probably dangerous sort of way. I did end up laughing to tears though. Probably because of all the horrible mental images that flashed through my mind at the smirking Yoshi panel. I had fun viewing this, and I look forward to the podcast tomorrow! Thanks guys! Especially you, Tim. High-Five!

Here’s another guy agreeing that a Tim’s Take archive would be pretty handy.

(The podcast joke prophesy was true! Tim’s Take is slowly taking over the site! )

    • mkava says:

And soon it will eat Ray. And then it’ll just be 1P-START. >.>

      • Retl says:

Noooooo, no, Ray! Anything but that! Where will I get new wallpapers and awesome Sonic and Nintendo rants with Ray gone? I don’t know enough about Bad News Baseball to latch onto the potential Tim rants.

And then the podcast! It’s made with 89% Ray, 10% Tim, and 1% (Black) Doom. If Ray is devoured by the Tim’s Take, there won’t be enough percentage of the Podcast left to even be a downloadable, playable media file. Unless it’s a gif. Do gifs count anymore these days? I guess they do count. 1PStart! Live Animated Transcript GIF Weekly.

        And

Whatever it was I was going to say, I totally forgot when I had the mental image of what this site would be like if Tim did all the graphics as well. Like as a one time prank or a separate toggle-able theme, or just a part set aside for the Tim’s Take archives which would almost be a parody of the rest of the site’s own layout.
I’m beginning to like this idea. The seperate Tim’s take. Not losing Ray. Losing either member of the two man team would be the worst possible thing that could happen to the site. (Well, short of all the Yoshi of Yoshi’s Island coming in and simultaneously playing dead, if the effects would be anything like what happened when just one did one or two pages ago when this comic used to be good.)

wow are tims takes daily now well ray did do a joke about it
*editors note:go see comic something something a conversation

plese do not tell me this is because of the comment
edtiors note:go see how to train your dragon (editors note :the comic on this not the flim (even that the flim is good))

editors note:i’m running out of sticky paper

  7. JohnW says:

Oh yeah, seeing as I had nothing to do, I made this really crappy edit. http://i43.tinypic.com/29mqhis.jpg Resolutions messed up, but the edits were to the second last panel where he says “…” and last one where he says “OH NO!”

Obviously, all credit goes to Tim for the art!

  8. shyguy22 says:

I like Yoshi’s a doctor, but why? Any way there should be another Tim’s take next week!
I sure wish theres a pixel vision video game!

  9. mkava says:

Sadly, this is sort of funny. It’s crude, it’s simple, but the slight details (the smirking Yoshi.. didn’t notice that on the first look-over… nice touch) make it good. it’s not great. The normal comics that Tim _writes_ and Ray _draws_ are awesome. A one-man show with just Tim would well.. uh..

Tim, if you do decide to continue theses.. make certain you match your outline color (last panel.. it’s realllly obvious). Unless that was an intended detail, fix it. >.<

  10. Highwater Trousers says:

Mama mia! For a second I thought there was going to be a reference to a previous comic. More specifically, “Open-a wide!” *throws entire pill bottle*

I guess what makes Tim’s Take so funny is the charm in it all. Although, with the frequent appearances of Tim’s Take, 2P START! might literally refer to two people doing two comics.

  11. Lilguitarist says:

The best thing about this is Mario’s atrocious Italian accent. I think TIm may be getting a bit carried away with the Tim’s Takes. Someone must stop him before it’s too late!

  12. ParodyKnaveBob says:

I don’t really enjoy saying this, but, I *liked* the comic until the final panel. The final panel didn’t really make any sense at all. It’s possible it’s intending the audience to use imagination to figure out what happened, but even that intention isn’t clearly conveyed.

Maybe he (Yoshi) laid an egg (go read the SMW manual, *he* lays *eggs*) and aimed and threw it into Mario’s mouth (like YI:SMW2) and it had a pill in it? I really feel like I’m grasping for straws here…

But otherwise, it was all pretty funny. $:^ ] Charming, even.

    • ParodyKnaveBob says:

Erg. I meant the-part-I-don’t-enjoy-saying is that the final panel fell on deaf eyes with me.

  13. NintendoNaut says:

Lol. One of those comics that’s so random and messed up it’s funny.

  14. D3vin says:

I wonder if the doctor can fix my leg?
Nice one, It is good to see that Yoshi has got his revenge.
    *devilish laugh*

  15. BooCwis says:

Ugh Tim, this is the only one that didn’t make me laugh. But I guess it’s a good way to stall the fans for the podcast.
And I have a feeling that Mario’s jelly-leg is going to cameo in a regular 2P Start! comic. I actually wanna see how Ray would draw it…

  16. wazkatango says:

    Ultra realistic graphics? No.
    Weird? Yes.
    Funny? Mamma mia, yes.

  17. Loooca says:

While nothing matches the glory that is the podcast, this here is lulzy enough to keep us waiting :3 Though, really now, I don’t think I’ll get any work done with the lack of a podcast /slacks off

  18. Supersonic24 says:

    This is a good-a Tim’s Take! Congratulations Tim-a!

  19. pcargill says:

gaaaaahhhh it burrrrnnnssssssssss. its unusually bad for a tims take (no offense tim) but i guess its better than nothing… X_x

  20. Retl says:

Just a guess, but I get the feeling that people who like going through a silly comic quickly then thinking about it afterwards will probably enjoy this Tim’s Take more than people who like to take their time with each individual frame. Readers who like to run through speedily for an ending punchline, though, will totally miss the jokes.

  21. TheLupineOne says:

Oh noes! The prophecy is coming true!

    • mrpineapplehead says:

sorry beaten you to saying that last tim’s take comic so yeah but really

SOME ONE AGREES WITH ME!!!!! HAPPY MOMMENT….

yeah i should really lay of the sweets

  22. Keja says:

Enough is enough! I’ve seen to many gimpy legs and the next Tim’s take needs to change

  23. Apkinesis says:

Not my favorite of this arc of Tim’s Takes, but still good (by its standards, at the very least) 😛

I’m still kind of wondering though: is that box around Mario an operation table? If so, is the table propped into an upright position, or is someone distorting the fabric of space such that it only appears to be upright alongside the doctors? I’m guessing the latter, because while first reading, honestly I somehow managed to picture the doctors standing up as Mario is lying down, despite that the two perpendicular dimensions are instead parallel.

    • Tim says:

Ha, yes, it’s an operating table. I was going to make mention of that in the comic, but it was long enough as it stood. Just thought it made for a nice Tim’s Take moment as drawing Mario at an angle will probably never happen.

      • BooCwis says:

Haha, I never noticed it WAS an operating table (actually, I thought it was a capsule or something).

But couldn’t you just take the image and give it 3-D effects? Like, in something as easy as powerpoint?

  24. shyguy22 says:

Why did doctor Mario in the comic? I mean he was the same person as Mario!
