Happy Halloween (Also, Look What I Did!)
October 31st, 2007
Happy Halloween everyone! Have fun, be safe, and don’t eat the unwrapped candy from that weird neighbor (*shudder*). I thought I’d show off my very first attempt at a decent jack-o-lantern! I was inspired by the Joystiq contest and decided to actually carve a pumpkin myself. It took a couple of hours and I thought I’d fail every step of the way, but I think it turned out alright! I’m going to pretend it’s the Ghost Ship from the Phantom Hourglass even though it was just a pirate ship pattern that came with my pumpkin carving kit. Anyway, look for a comic later today!
Wait, Seriously?

I’m not lying, either. In fact, to activate the Whammy Bar you shake the Wii Remote. I’ve been playing Guitar Hero III on Wii with the guitar, but I stumbled upon this explanation in the instruction manual. I couldn’t believe this was actually a way you could play the game. It also says to press “Up” for Star Power, but there’s an important ability that seems to be missing… Such as… how do you strum?
Brawl Flash Level Editor
October 30th, 2007
I can’t believe I’m the one posting this since Brawl is more Ray’s territory than mine, but someone put together a neat little flash tool that lets you design your own Brawl levels, just like the real game will. Of course it’s pretty basic, but for some of you Brawl fanatics, this will give you something to do during the long delay. What do you think of my level design?
2P START! Live!: Wiki-wiki-wild Edition
October 29th, 2007
Check it out! We’re on time this week! And as a bonus, we don’t sound sick and exhausted! That was last week, as I was a bit sick, and we were both a bit exhausted when we recorded the podcast (twice). This edition clocks in at almost 26 minutes (longer than we’d like), but we hope you enjoy it anyway as we discuss Zack & Wiki for the Wii. You can listen after the break or subscribe through iTunes or through rss (m4a enhanced or mp3 format).

October 26th, 2007
Well, Ray finally found this game, but I’m still looking. Ray checked a number of places and after much hassle finally found it at Best Buy. I checked GameStop (out of stock), Toys “R” Us (didn’t know why they didn’t have it), Circuit City (no clue), and Target (nowhere in sight). Today I’m determined to get it, but my question is, why is this game so hard to find? There must have been a shipping delay because it wasn’t in any of the Sunday ads and many places are still calling it a pre-order. Meanwhile Ray is happily enjoying the challenging adventure. We’ll be sure to talk about the game in our next podcast, Ray will eventually review the game, and I’ll post my impressions once I hunt it down.
[Update] I found it! Another GameStop nearby had it. I was bummed that they had already opened it for me, but with a 10% off coupon and a gift card I had, I only paid $17 out of pocket so I can’t complain too much!
Giveaway #1: God of War PSP Demo [Closed]
October 26th, 2007
I occasionally get demos from Sony for PS2 or PSP games as part of Playstation Underground. This week I got this God of War: Chains of Olympus (PSP) demo disc along with a God of War keychain and $15 off a PSP purchase at Best Buy coupon. Since I no longer have a PSP, I thought someone out there might want it. If you leave a comment below telling us which 2P START! comic is your favorite, I’ll choose one person to send it to. Deadline is whenever I think there are enough comments to randomly pick someone. No multiple comments please.
[Update]: Giveaway is now closed, SGeek wins!
Super Mario Galaxy Impressions (Tim + Ray)
October 24th, 2007
At E for All, Ray and I each got 10 minutes to play around with Super Mario Galaxy before the booth babes ruined our fun. And it was fun, but it made me realize that a video game expo was not the ideal environment to enjoy a Mario title. Ten minutes felt like 2 minutes and wasn’t nearly enough time to do anything. Basically, you start out in the ‘hub’ where Rosette stands and waits for you do do all her dirty work. From the hub, Mario can access the galaxies which reside in different rooms in the hub. In the demo, one galaxy was unlocked along with all its areas. Each area is a different level with three stars to get (not sure if there will be more than three stars in the final version) and can consist of a planet or some other celestial region (some areas require Mario to fly from meteor to meteor, etc.). I played a boss battle against a giant robot that Bowser Jr. sent to destroy me and the bee stage we’ve all seen on the internet.

2P START! Live!: E for All Did Not Suck Edition
October 23rd, 2007
Our latest podcast is now live in both m4a and mp3 formats. You can listen to it in this post after the break, or subscribe to our feed to get it in iTunes or in your rss reader of choice. This edition is all about E for All and our experiences at the expo. Don’t believe all the gaming media outlets that are saying it was lame and worthless. I mean, Brawl was there, how could you not enjoy it? Anyway, give it a listen and let us know what you think!
