Aww Ray, we’re your buddies. Sorta, in a way.

My voicemail message thing is a two minute tutorial on how to leave a message. I’ll type the script.

“Hello, you have reached [my name]. I’m sure by now you know what to do at this point.
If not, I figure, that you are either new to using a phone, your Amish, in which case you should get off the phone before someone sees or your pants on head retarded.
Either way, I will explain what to do.
First you wait until a *beep* or other similar noise. This might also be called a tone.
then you say into the phone what you would say to me and I will check the message and call you back, maybe.
Either way, continue with what you were going to say after the *beep* or tone.
    Thanks for calling!”

lwelyk (or however you spell it was right)
you can be bought by kiss ups, Ray

I would like a video podcast, I wanna know what you look like.

    heh heh- tails doll curse.

Ray, if i send you Sonic ’06 will you review it for me? please.

  2. Ray says:

    Anon,
I had attempted to write a review but gave up before I typed a single word. I had everything set up, too… artwork, logos, etc…

If you want the closest thing to a written review, then you can listen to our podcast review of it from my previous website:

    M4A: http://www.raybobindustries.com/oldversionblue/otherpages/audio/bobcast/02sonic06.m4a

  3. Anon says:

The one good thing I think that came out of Sonic ’06 was the music.
I think that it was the best soundtrack of any Sonic game.

  4. Ray says:

For the most part, yes… Although it does tend to be fairly hit-n-miss at times for me. Personally, I prefer the Sonic Rush soundtrack.

  5. Anon says:

Well, Sonic games always have good music.
Even their 16-bit stuff was amazing.

Ugh- except for all of Knuckles’ themes and level in SA2.
    Never liked those.

Also, forgot to compliment the new Ray and Tim.
I like them a lot better then just Silhouettes, those were too boring.

  6. roadjcat says:

Okay, sorry took me so long to comment. Ray, you told us that today’s podcast was going to be great, so you got my hopes up, however I found that it was just an average podcast, of course, one of your guys’ “average” podcasts are still pretty awesome.

Okay, I’ve taken notes again, and it’s been a while since I took them, so I might be a bit vague, but here we go:

    1. What was with the 43 in the beginning of the podcast, did the iPhone say it or something?

2.Not much to say about Trivia for Two, although it was more trivia for one…but okay. I wouldn’t have gotten answer either…so yeah.

    3. New logos are pretty spiffy, but I have to wonder, what happens with someone posts a guest comic? Are you just gonna whip one out really quickly or what?

    4. I wasn’t aware all those games were free…interesting. If it makes any difference, there’s no way I could’ve gotten three reviews out that quickly.

    5. Okay, no offense, but are we done with the iPhone now? It’d be more interesting if I owned one, but I don’t and I don’t think the majority of the listeners do either.

    6. Not a whole lot to say about comic talk…but what’s wrong with bashing Sony? I’m okay with that. XD

    7. Okay, now for the comments, I’m going to try to say this without sounding like a total jerk.

Okay, the comments that keep being chosen are kinda defeating the purpose of the segment IMO. If the same type of comment keeps being chosen every week, then it doesn’t make much of a difference. If the same type of comment is going to be chosen every time, then you might as well save some time and just not have that segment. And maybe I’m just oblivious, but these commenters that offer you so much praise don’t seem to stick around. They comment once to praise you, but then I don’t really see them much after that. Also, the problem with choosing these types of comments is that the regular readers/listeners never get chosen. Now, I’m not trying to give some speech on why we should get comment of the week, but there are about maybe about 6 users that I see regularly and comment on pretty much everything, but I never recognize the names of the commenters…
Now, obviously I’ve thought of a way to remedy this…perhaps you could have two comments of the week. You could pick a comment that praises your work and then just a misc. comment.

    8. Black Doom Awards were interesting. I read about the menu system complaints in your reviews, so I wasn’t to surprised there, but Ray, your Black Doom Award was pretty funny. I don’t know how that would help…I don’t remember the swimming sections that well, but I doubt the Wii Remote motion really resembles the actual motion…

And that’s about it. Sorry if I came off a bit obnoxious as I did went I commented about e3, but I thought it was something I should say.

  7. lwelyk says:

    Call them “Ray’s Crappy Reviews”

AND STOP PICKING SUCK-UP COMICS RAY!

  8. steve-ohs says:

Good Podcast guys! I just hope we’re almost done with all this Iphone/touch stuff. Unless you want to give out free ones. I’m not getting one, and I’m not too intrested in it. I’m just wondering who you kept talking about that caused all the edits

    p.s. Merry August Chistmas!!

  9. roadjcat says:

    Call them “Ray’s Crappy Reviews”
AND STOP PICKING SUCK-UP COMICS RAY!

I assume you meant suck-up comments right? I think that phrase “For every great comic, comes great comments” is getting stuck in out heads and we sometimes interchange the words comic and comments, I’ve done it before too.

  10. Loooca says:

I liked the iPhone phase while it lasted. I’m sure everyone is going to be raving about it if they had it. I know I would!

Nice podcast, you guys. Thank you.

  11. D3vin says:

I like Ray’s comment just for the fact that I was mentioned… Why was I IP banned again? Oh yeah, my hostile takeover of 2pStart! Aaaaah, good times, good times. Even though I agree with Lwelyk and you should stop Picking the suck ups and other guys that practically send you chocolates and flowers to your door… I should have been mentioned as I elaborated on how the DS turned evil and how an Evil DS should get a sequel than Captain Rainbow.

Still a good podcast, Can’t wait until Wednesday for the comic.

  12. MetaRidleyR27 says:

Man, being back in school really screws up my 2P START! schedule. I’ll have to listen to this tomarrow.

  13. dj75728 says:

    “It does go good with the chicken!” I’ve been saying that to my friends lately ^_^;

Looks like Ray’s gonna have his work cut out for him

Keep iPhone/iTouch stuff to a minimum please guys. Not like anyone else here has one besides us >_< (and Metal_Link I believe). And everyone else has to understand that Tim and Ray are very excited about their new hardware, and thus it has seeped into the site a bit.

I don’t do voicemail anymore. If the iPhone didn’t leave that annoying marker over my phone icon I’d never even click the voicemail button. And I never leave them either, unless I’m calling a business or its for work that is.

I welcome the PSP jokes. It’s just that people are so quick to assume that if you like one(Wii), you must hate another(PS3).

I’ve been saying for weeks now that I’m sick and tired of the suck-up comments. Good to see everyone else realizing it too. I remember the good ol’ days, when comments were picked based on their origianlity, and all that jazz. I’m starting to think people are posting suck-up comments just to get comment of the week now.

  14. LoganXZ says:

I don’t know what Ray’s talking about. I believe it when Kitajima said that the game prepared him. I mean games like Trauma Center are seriously helping people prep for the medical field. Don’t believe me? Well give this a read over:

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got a hot dog eating contest to train for.

They don’t listen. When you finish every operation (including the X missions) on Second Opinion, it tells you that you should not try to preform surgery in real life as you are not a real surgeon. They also recommend that if you are a real surgeon that you don’t tell your patients how long it took you to complete the game.

Yes, it actually says that kinda thing.

Yeah, I know. I was going to give it another week and when one of those comments came up again, then I decided to say something. Although I wasn’t around for those “good ol’ days” I did listen to the podcast, and I don’t recall hearing many of those types of comments.

And in a way you’re right, it does seem like those comments are appearing a lot. Of course so are the total amount of comments…

  17. roadjcat says:

    Y’know, I wasn’t completely serious either…

  18. The reason that cell phone companies preface voice mail with that really slow, long, electronic message is so that it will add more minutes to your call. Thus a voice message you left will generally count as a 2-minute call instead of a 1-minute call. Multiply that by millions of people…

  19. roadjcat says:

Okay, I had some time on my hands, so I went back and counted how many “first time posters” or what not comments you had in a row. Four weeks. In the last four weeks one of you have selected that type of comment. Ray, you did three times, and Tim, you did once.

Okay, so it’s not quite as bad as I thought, but…yeah.

  20. LoganXZ says:

Ah, the loss of humor through the absence of voice. Here’s to you, internetz!

    :: raises a pint ::

  21. MetaRidleyR27 says:

I finally got to listen to it. Nice podcast guys, but it wasn’t as awesome as I was expecting it to be.

  22. Napman1 says:

Well, great podcast guys. (yay third post. :o) sadly Tim didn’t expect the unexpected. (refering to Trivia for Two) I’d like to take this time to make a new abriviation. (grammar = horrible :s)

NPCG – Nice PodCast Guys. 😛

The only reason I don’t comment on everything, is that I usually visit on my Wii, it is very troublesome to type from. By the way, I’m the one who started the whole “Coming out from the shadows” thing, back in Episode 32: Virus Edition, I didn’t get comment of the week, but I did get mentioned at the end of the podcast.

I also don’t care about people getting comment of the week for praising Tim/Ray, it’s their choice to pick whichever comment they want, not your’s. So just deal with it or skip past that part.

Here’s a link to my comment that started it all.

I’m not trying to be mean, but some people actually have work to do and don’t have the time to post a comment.

  23. roadjcat says:

So just deal with it or skip past that part.

I know. That’s what I’m saying. If the same comment gets chosen all the time, then yes, you are correct, you might as well skip it. I’m trying to prevent the segment from getting skipped.

  24. dj75728 says:

^^Umm….we kinda already have NPG(Nice Podcast Guys).

Wait, you visit from your Wii…..But you bring up that people can’t comment because they have work to do. Either you have a Wii and Wi-Fi in your office, or that point didn’t really pertain to your situation. And a number of the regulars here commented from work(including me and Andrew). But anyway, why is taking half a minute to comment on something you’ve already taken time out to read too troublesome?

@Metroid: I think he’s saying that those of us who are annoyed with the suck-up comments should just skip past the comment of the week if we are tired of hearing those comments get chosen. Not that Ray and Tim should cut the segment.

  25. roadjcat says:

I know. But if we all skip the segment, then whats the point of having it?

  26. Lava says:

NCG! It’s so SAD though! Poor DS Lite…

Please do the evil DS Lite comic! (With it’s plotting / getting revenge!)

Oh and man, Ray’s kind of… mean to Tim!

Would you mind telling us what the name of the Sonic podcast was? I am intrigued. Also, I’d like to let you know that I have every single one of those Sonic R songs on my iPod. Super Sonic Racing is still the best though.

    Sure, LoliconKato.
It was called “The Sonic Show” from Sonic Stadium.

Whoa. 2PStart went down for me for a little while. Now that it’s back, I want to share a brief story.
It’s getting late. I’m getting drowsy. My lamp is on, with the 2PStart Live podcast episode 42 M4A version playing on my computer desktop as I’m doodling on a sheet of printer paper with a pencil as I try to re-train my recently underused art skills. I laughed SO HARD between the jumpkicking and getting raped into the death zone. So darn loud that it echoed in my room. But it made me feel so great.

And for some reason it seems like it made my drawings better. No joke.
