E for Most
Yeah, E for All definitely wasn’t ‘for all’ as the majority of media coverage I heard both before and after the show was pretty negative. I’d say it was E for Most because most of us are just gamers that love playing games. IGN and my beloved Joystiq led the charge as Debby Downers of the gaming journalist community. Joystiq went so far as to predict there wouldn’t be an E for All 2008 on Thursday, the first day of the show. On IGN’s video wrapup for E for All, Jessica Chobot stayed pretty positive, but when she interviewed Matt Casamassina and Mark Bozon, they just came off sounding a bit egotistical. We know you guys have played these games before and you guys have been to the E3’s and GDC’s and TGS’s. That’s why this show was special. We didn’t need you guys to tell us how it was, we could see for ourselves. Now I’ll admit, it was pretty crummy that Sony and Microsoft didn’t show, they were definitely missed, but as we said in the podcast, it was still a lot of fun and will hopefully be expanded even more next year (and yes, there will be a next year).
