Nintendo Defense Force
Those windows in the background… I don’t think I’ve had to struggle with Illustrator so much before. It took me more than an hour making such a simple adjustment to the windows because Illustrator had to fight me with every click made. However, the rest of the comic was a lot of fun to make. As you can see I’ve given Mario quite a glow around his body - in an effort to simulate his appearance in Galaxy. The end result makes me wonder if he’s actually appearing to me in a dream….
Later this week I’ll give you guys a look at some of the process involved in how I make the comics. Thanks for reading, everyone. We really appreciate it.
Well Ray’s ‘window’ problem is a little different than my Windows problem, but I guarantee I’ve spent more time with more versions of Windows this week than he did drawing the comic. I’m ready to wave the white flag and put Vista (*shudder*) back on my laptop. I tried to downgrade, but my XP disc wouldn’t let me do that from a newer version of Windows, so I had to go back to Windows 98, then to XP, but I was having serious performance issues with the XP install, so I tried to go back to 98 in order to reinstall XP again, but now 98 tries to boot up and says there’s not enough memory to start Windows. And I can’t upgrade to XP from the broken state the computer is in, so my only option is to go back to Vista…or buy a Mac.
Anyway, I got the idea for this comic from the backlash Ray got at GoNintendo for his ’scathing’ review of Mario Galaxy. I wanted Mario to personify all the fanboy sentiment and I think Ray pulled it off quite nicely. Hopefully even the GoNintendo folks can get a kick out of this one.
