This comic is just about word for word what Ray and I came up with in a conversation the other night. While it’s totally bizarre, we were both laughing so hard at the thought of this, that we had to do it. It’s probably the hardest we’ve laughed at one of our ideas ever. I’m amazed at how well it turned out, given the fact that it’s 11 panels, including a double-sized panel, but Ray really went all out, staying up way too late to finish it!
Funny stuff, but doesn’t it help enforce the Sonic X Tails gay love jokes?

I was worn out by the time I was done with the comic, so I’ll do one late tonight.
After the one panel, I expected it to instead cut to a hospital where they were trying to revive Ray from a heart attack.
Man, that generic guy really can’t seem to hold down a job, can he.
And I like Ray’s eye in the one panel.
Also, nice how Ray tailored the decor of the entire room to the clothes of each girl. I think that’s a little creepy, actually…

Ahahahahaha, I love the Smash Bros. logo in Ray’s eye when Brawl comes up. Little known fact, that actually happens to him in real life too. I love how well you portrayed yourself in the comic! Also, can I go to the wedding? I’d even agree to wear a ridiculous sonic costume if there’s cake.
My first reaction was “WHAT?”, but that was quickly replaced by hysterical laughter at the complete ridiculousness of last few panels.
Wait, WHAT?! Sonic should NOT be marrying Tails. At all. Ever.
That being said, I laughed so hard at this one…I really should stop reading this comic at work 😉

The whole comic made me laugh, but it’s also really creepy to see Tails as a girl. Miles is a boy’s name!
Oh, and I definitely loved the detail of the Smash Bros. logo in Ray’s eye.

This was great, and the fact that it has so many panels makes it better. Although judging from the Facebook page last week, the bride should have been the princess. I notice that the priest is that man from avoiding controversy, advertising Hitler. Looks like we have a master multi-tasker!

But today’s comic hits close to home. A quest I took up years ago has led me to a chick who is not only gorgeous but can kick my ass in Smash Bros.

I love the smash logo eyes. I thought at first that the comic would end after the first three panels, but this was just absolutely hilarious!!!

Of course, considering that Tim flits between seemingly living with Ray and living with his Wife with accompanying swimming pool… And that Ray has destroyed his house with no consequence in the next comic… …maybe there is no continuity… hm…

I think Ray made the right choice in ditching the first girl. Bright-eyed girls in pink with hairbands like that always wind up becoming more trouble than their worth.
Also, the wedding scene is completely ruined, as she doesn’t have the same eye-color as Tails. Jeez, I thought Ray was supposed to be a Sonic fan.

Great, here comes “Sonic: Bringing Home The Bacon” game, where Sonic tries to tackle the hardships of real life like calculating his ring returns or kissing up to his boss, Black Doom, only to slander him over a pod cast.
That was…don’t even know what to describe it as, so “messed up” will have to do. Funny, but really messed up.

Ok, there may have been a few weeks without stellar jokes, but the last few weeks have really made up for it.

Not so sure when the fiction ends and the reality begins.There are so many knubby elbows that is just ridiculous. And “Press ‘A’ to marry her”? Wow, this is just you’re dream isnt it?

Anyway, I’d like to make a small grammatical correction. “Fans” only needs to be plural if there’s more then one. Because Ray is the only fan, singular form serves a better purpose. We can’t let Ray think he has friends!
I think the reason that she is dressed as Tails is that he is as classic a Sonic character as possible, second only to Sonic himself (unless we count Dr. Robotnik, which I think would be much worse than Tails.)

Oh my god, this is so funny, it’s turned me into a grave riser. [Achievement Unlocked!].
I was actually expecting this comic to be lame, you know, like most date movies, but I lol’d hard all over the place. Such perfect comedic timing, which is impressive for a comic. The length caught me off guard, and so did the ending. I think because it’s unlike most of your other comics is why it was so hilarious.
By the way, I’ve been a fan of the podcast for a long time, and a fan of the comics for an even longer time. Keep up the great work guys!

This was absolutely my intention – and lets face it – having her in a Tails costume is simply more humorous than something more rational like Amy.
I just tried to reference girl number three by name but realized she didn’t have one. Rayline? Raymona? Oh well.

Okay, first off more like welcome to 2008. Secondly, in most games green is the 4th player. Yellow is third. Even if not in most games that’s the way it is in Smash Bros, and we all know that’s the only thing that matters. Also I think the colors are meant to go by 1st, 2nd, and 3rd date.

Part of the problem with getting married was all my previous GF’s had an issue with my gaming…except (as you may have guessed) my lady-love. I read this comic while at a store during a band trip. Me and my friend went to find a computer with Internet access because the collage wouldn’t allow us to hook to their wifi without a student ID. So we found a few laptops with access in one of the stores on the first floor and being Wednesday I decided to check the site. I COPMPLEATLY lost it. I think the 5 people in the store were all looking at me. My friend asked why I had suddently gone into a laughing fit. I showed him the comic and he looked at the last 15 comics at least. I’ve got to say you guys sure know how to write a comic. Keep up the good work!

So then, according to the emblem this week, Ray and/or Tim must be a Klonoa fan.
I have an idea for the girl’s name: Miley! It’s a play off of the name Miles, which is Tails’ real first name. Since she’s dressed as Tails, why not? Miley! It works, right? Plus, it’s more unique then names with ‘Ray’ in them.
Also, loved the Master Emerald ring logo. Nice added touch!
Oh, one other thing: She’s actually not dressed as Tails, she’s dressed as Tails-Ko. Problem solved.
(For those who don’t know, Tails-Ko is a female version of Tails that someone created. And no, I don’t remember who)

First, I’ve been reading this comic since the Mario Kart comic. And I’ve listened to about 10 podcasts. Just had to get that out of the way, you know? Everyone else does, and then mentions that they are Rising From Their Grave.
Moving on, this comic was incredibly freaking awesome. I don’t even know what was so awesome about it…it just…exudes awesomeness.

This is not only one of the best comics on this site, but one of the best gaming comics I’ve read.
On one hand it’s poking fun at how desperate a gamer is when it comes to dating. Ray is willing to marry someone over just a couple of games that came out around 10 years ago. On the other hand, it’s a representation of attaining that impossible dream of finding a girl who not only doesn’t think your a loser based on your hobby but also understands it. On the other other hand it’s anthropomorphizing the gaming industry, we’ve got the consoles constantly trying to appeal to the non-gamers until they just become glorified PCs, then the consoles that have games, but nothing that really appeals to the gamers, but then there’s always that one shining example of awesome that reassures you everything will be OK and that all that you love does and will still exist.
That or it’s all just an awesome joke. Either way, NCG.
This is pretty much the best comic ever, guys. I thought that the comic was over like three times before the end. Every little joke felt like a final punch line. I wish I could “Rise From My Grave” so this comment could get on the podcast, but I’ve already commented several times. Oh well. All I can say is that I’m glad that Ray stayed up late to make all 11 panels. Never stop making comics!

Also, the priest who is performing the wedding…. he goes from game salesman to Sony spokesperson to a priest…. he definitely has an array of jobs. Perhaps he thought it best to get away from the gaming industry altogether, but, come to find you can’t get away that easily.

I barely know anything about Sonic Unleashed, but from the earlier comics (especially the last one) I can see Chip is an annoying flying thingy that tells you to PRESS THE A BUTTON. And I already know that the Sonic games… well… let’s just say they aren’t as good as they used to be.
