1. When you said that Tim wasn’t going to be in it (I hadn’t seen the description for it you just posted) my first though was, “He made a FULL LENGTH podcast by himself!?” XD
2. Great music for Tim’s segment.
3. This is not your guys’ fault at all, but I seriously miss Topic of the Week…that’s where most of my notes came from, but unfortunately there haven’t been very many interesting topics as of late.
4. The only reason I could think for a game presenting you with unlockables once you finish the game is if there is a new game plus, in which case it’s perfectly acceptable IMO.
5. What the? C and D buttons?! XD
6. Well in Eternal Sonata, it’s still better than random encounters because if you are low on health and you see the enemy that you have to battle, you can go heal or something…at least that’s what I’m assuming, I’ve never played the game.
7. I just thought of my own BDA when you were talking about the 5 minute scene. Cutscenes in which you are not allowed to make the text scroll faster. I hate that. I was playing Fire Emblem: Blazing Sword again and there was this one scene, which looked basically like every other one, but I wasn’t allowed to scroll through the text faster because it was important.
8. And with the changing weapons thing, you just reminded me of another reason why I like the console Fire Emblems, the weapons actually look different!
9. Musical Misfit was good for an older song which I’m not usually a fan of, but I actually expected that one to be picked.

So Jon is like the Grinch…he’s the cause of no podcast two weeks ago, but he comes back to save it this week.
For the weekend sales thing, when I heard the numbers this morning, they specified how much was Fri-Sun, and how much was since Wednesday, so I *think* that means they only count the actual weekend. I hope so, anyway.
I don’t know why, but I love listening to Ray’s rants. Makes me want to jump in.
Anyways, nice to listen to a podcast as I clean.

So this comment has nothing to do with this specific comment, but with podcasts in general. I just got a new iPod touch, and when it plays you podcasts, i get a big black empty screen. My old versions (the mp3’s i’ve already listened to) have all the pretty camera shots, but the last two have not. is the problem on your end or mine and do you know how i can get those pretty pictures back?

The MP3 feed should have the album art as that of the main picture, and the M4A feed should have all of the pictures. Which feed are you subscribed to on your iPod Touch?

Ok tim, heres the thing. i thought it was funny, it’s just the way you said it but with a sarcastic tone.and really, why would i listen to all of them and near the end think “o… well i guess i dont need to listen to the last 5”. i know i dont HAVE to listen to all of them. BUT THEY’RE AWESOME!!! its nice to see the evolution of 2p start. Plus in my opinion, the podcasts are the best thing on the site.

If you can’t get scripts from Tim, you could always remake the first few comics.
Good podcast! Jon was a good replacement for Tim, maybe just work on the evil laugh and how dare they and it should be all good.

The link picture says the Aladdin song Camel Jazz is used in Gen + SNES, but I pretty sure (90%) that its only in the Gen. version. The SNES game and Genesis game are completely different.

I was gonna comment on that myself, but I guess I can second it lol. Yeah, the SNES and the Genesis versions of Aladdin are totally different games (music included).
I’ve actually gotten into arguments with my friends over which one was the better game, and simply put, I think the Genesis version rocks, simply because Aladdin’s weapon is a sword, not ‘throwing apples’ like in the SNES version.
Also congrats Tim! Lily is a cute name 🙂
I had the same problem when I downloaded them straight form the store on my iPod I got about a week ago. I downloaded a few from the iTunes store, and they didn’t have the pictures. It did when I downloaded it on my laptop and then synched it, though. Unless there is some way on the iPod to tell it which version to download…

And thanks to Ultimate DK for giving the Genesis Aladdin some love. Growing up, that was one of my favorite games ever. A movie game that didn’t suck. Lion King was good too but stupid hard. And yeah, the SNES version of Aladdin did suck. Oh well.
The Baby Mario crying at the beginning made me giggle. Great podcast as always! Can’t wait to see more pics of Lily. Congrats again Tim!

My guess is that it is subscribing to the m4a since it treats it like a movie, but the screen is black the whole time (not even just the album artwork) Where am i messing up?

Holy. ****. My cousin was born with a full head of hair, and had the same name! This is amazing! This evidently means that you are my aunt and uncle pretending to be younger and using the identity of different people, but dropping hints to clear their guilt-ridden minds! It’s nice to know that Sarah and Lily are doing good. I’m pleasantly surprised that Tim was able to send a picture and small message.
The Gamebone Pro is just ridiculous. I can sort of understand how some people might want buttons to play certain games (Sonic, Pacman, and Megaman come to mind), but instead of taking such an easy way out they could make the controls incorporate the touch screen and tilt functions in a cool way and make something fun and innovative.
I was typing out some thoughts about the Eternal Sonata BDA, but I soon realized that it would really long and somewhat dip into a mini-rant. I’ll just say that even thought I haven’t played that particular game, I completely agree about how bad the issues are.
So finally, Nice Podcast Guys! Jon was a great guest this week, and it’d be awesome if he could be on the show again sometime.
That may be the most I laughed at an intro to a podcast.

When I told (essentially) the same crack joke at Gamestop, the dudes broke out in a fit! I stopped playing the “Punch-Out!!” (yes, the exclamations are necessary) and kiosk and that it was like crack. Then they laughed and asked how I could conceive how addicting it is and if I knew what it was. I thought they were crazy, but then I remembered that I’m 14.

For some arbitrary reason, I was listening to this again and I just thought of something with the whole Mass Effect reward that carries over to Mass Effect 2.
Pokemon Ranger did something very similar. In Pokemon Ranger, once you finished the game you gained access to a new mission which, upon completion, gave you access to a Manaphy Egg. However, this Manaphy Egg could only be hatched in Pokemon Pearl/Diamond/Platinum. But none of those were out at that time. So that actually kind of made me want Pearl even more, but I didn’t think there was anything wrong with what Pokemon Ranger did. I was quite excited that I’d be able to obtain an Legenary Pokemon so early on in the game.

Some of my earliest memories are of Video Games. Things like Clekovision. That is probably why I am obsessed with LttP. My kids will start with NES and grow them up just like that. They need to start with 2D games because 2D games are the best games, and they need to start with them to appreciate them. The dreaded Rise from your Grave award. A crackle is probably the best evil laugh by this point. Wait what?
My game is going to reward you with 100% of the levels being played in another game and 100% of the levels of the other game being played in that game (the physics are the same but the object is different). These two games are going to come out at the same time, and you unlock other levels in the other game as you go. The one with more unlockables is more multi-player biased.
That is very bogus. Its pretty terrible. I hate when you cant go back and get every thing later.
Link to the Past the sword changed colour and got bigger when you upgraded it. I mean there are only 4, but still… its for the SNES!
Wow… just wow. Pallet swapping TODAY??? Even (some of) my upgraded enemy’s in my game are not pallet swaps, though they look like it. (the ones that are, are so because there supposed to be a golden version of the enemy, while the one that isn’t was drawn to have sharper teeth before I shrank the sprite)
